Dr. Dujela is an orthopedic fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience. He currently serves as President of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery https://www.abfas.org , where he oversees professional standards, governance, and board certification for approximately 10,000 surgeons across North America. Born with a clubfoot that was successfully corrected in childhood, Dr. Dujela brings a unique personal perspective to restoring function and mobility. His approach emphasizes clear communication, thoughtful decision-making, and surgical solutions tailored to each patient’s goals.
He has a longstanding commitment and recognition in surgical education at both the national and international levels. Dr. Dujela regularly lectures and chairs surgical conferences across the United States and abroad, including meetings throughout Europe and Asia. He serves as Chairman of Development for both the Basic and Advanced Principles of Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery courses for the AO Foundation (https://www.aofoundation.org) , a global organization recognized for leadership in orthopedic education, innovation, and research.
Dr. Dujela is the Director of the ACFAS-approved Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgical Reconstruction Fellowship at Olympia Orthopaedic Associates and previously served as National Chairman of the Education and Scientific Affairs Committee for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (https://www.acfas.org) . He also teaches advanced surgical techniques at skills courses nationwide and serves as AO North America Trauma Faculty (https://www.aofoundation.org/aona) .
In addition, Dr. Dujela currently serves as Chairman of the Annual Scientific Conference for ACFAS (https://www.acfas.org/education-professional-development/annual-scientific-conference) , the largest foot and ankle surgical meeting worldwide. He participates in the development of the board certification examination for foot and ankle surgeons and is Section Editor for Adult Reconstructive Hindfoot and Ankle Surgery for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery (https://www.jfas.org). His academic work includes numerous peer-reviewed publications and instructional textbook chapters, and he collaborates with orthopedic industry partners on cutting edge technologies and surgical implant design.
Dr. Dujela completed multiple orthopedic fellowships under recognized authorities in the field including an AO Fellowship in Liestal, Switzerland, an additional advanced multicenter fellowship in Germany and Switzerland and a visiting fellowship at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio, under the mentorship of Drs. Hyer, Berlet, Philbin, and Thomas Lee, MD, past president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
Originally from Victoria, Canada, Dr. Dujela enjoys spending time with his wife, Liliana, and their two children. Together they enjoy travel, hockey, skiing, and the region’s exceptional quality of life.
