About Dr. Franzen

Cody Franzen, M.D. is the newest Primary Care Sports Medicine provider to join the team at Oly Ortho.  Dr. Franzen is originally from Shelton, WA and attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA for undergrad where he studied Exercise and Health Sciences.  He attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine internship and residency through Providence St. Peter right here in Olympia.  He went on to complete a sports Medicine fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island before returning to Washington to begin his career. Prior to joining OOA, Dr. Franzen was part of the Providence Sports Medicine program and served as a team physician at Black Hills High School.

Dr. Franzen specializes in injuries of the shoulder, hip, and knee, as well as diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. When he is not seeing patients at the Westside Clinic, Dr. Franzen can be found spending time with his family, fishing, and tromping in the woods with his kids.
