Dr. Bender obtained his medical degree from the University of Arkansas. He went on to complete residency and fellowship training in the United States Army; Orthopedic surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hand surgery fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center which serves as a worldwide tertiary referral center for conditions of the upper extremity.
As a military orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Bender proudly served our soldiers, veterans, and their families around the world with assignments including Korea, California, Washington DC, Germany, and Washington state. He has completed two deployments to Afghanistan and a humanitarian mission to Honduras. He has also served as Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl Germany. He continues to serve our country as an Orthopedic surgeon in the United States Army Reserves.
